"Beaufort is known not just for its beautiful coastal scenery, but also for its well preserved early-to-mid 19th and late 18th century buildings."

That's what Touropia.com said about Beaufort SC when they named it the most charming town in all of South Carolina.

Yes, Beaufort SC is getting more accolades, and we couldn’t be happier.

In its article, Touropia.com made sure to note that, "a full 304 acres of Beaufort has been designated as a National Historic Landmark. Included in this area is Beaufort’s downtown, which features the ever-charming Old Point area, its heritage houses boasting upper and lower balconies drenched with greenery."

There's just something so special about our part of the Lowcountry that it keeps being raved about all over the internet and in nationally published magazines.

"Beaufort is a playground "for anybody with an eye for architecture and a heart ready for history."

Sounds about right to us.

Beaufort was in some good company on the list with several other beautiful towns accompanying it in the top 12. Anderson, Edisto Beach, Georgetown and neighboring Hilton Head Island were all on the list, but none compare to Beaufort SC.

They didn't short its readers on Beaufort's history either. "The Penn Center – a former school for freed slaves – now charts the history and culture of African-Americans," it said.

Some of the recent accolades for beautiful Beaufort SC include being named one of the Most Beautiful Small Towns in America, the Best Small Town in South Carolina, declared to be one of the Top Spots in the Southeast to Retire, and was just named the Most Charming Town in South Carolina for the second straight year, and, even bigger, was given the prize of being The Most Charming Town in the South.

In addition to those, Southern Living magazine named Hunting Island State Park (Beaufort's backyard beach) one of the best state parks in the South; and named downtown Beaufort’s Craven Street one of the South’s most beautiful streets.

Also, we’re both the Healthiest County in South Carolina and the Most Patriotic city, too.

What are they saying about your hometown?

With all of these fabulous accolades...who wouldn't want to relocate here to Beaufort SC?
